About XEO Valley

Main Street in XEO Valley was first settled in 1816 by Joseph Stone and his family. They built the original Stone Bridge (as seen in our logo) before digging a moat around town square. This moat led into the Mississippi, which was locally known as "Stone River".

Over the centuries, XEO Valley evolved from a modest river port into a thriving mid‑size city that still cherishes its historic roots. The original stone bridge remains a beloved landmark, now a pedestrian‑friendly promenade that connects the downtown core to the scenic riverfront.

As the city expanded, the historic town square was transformed into Valley Park, a green oasis that hosts farmers’ markets, festivals, and community gatherings. XEO Valley Pool, a modern aquatic center, was added in the 1990s to provide year‑round swimming, fitness, and family recreation. The XEO Valley Library, founded in 1847, preserves the city’s literary heritage while offering contemporary resources such as digital media labs, maker spaces, and lifelong‑learning programs. Finally, the city's Public Transit, provides reliable, accessible service that connects downtown with surrounding suburbs, the regional airport, and the Riverwalk corridor.

Whether you’re exploring the cobblestones of Main Street, exploring the library's extensive collection of books, relaxing by the “Stone River,” or cheering from the Riverwalk during a charity run, XEO Valley invites residents and visitors alike to experience a community where history, culture, and progress ride in harmony.
